Sustainability

Kia is getting ready for a future where all cars run on electricity. To achieve this, they are releasing new models like the EV6, Niro EV, and EV9. By 2026, they plan to have 11 electric cars available for purchase. Kia aims to have all its European vehicles electric by 2035 and in other major markets by 2040. RE: 100- All-Electric Future

Kia wants to use only renewable energy to power its factories and plans to achieve this through a program called RE:100. By 2030, all the vehicles used at these factories will also be electric. Kia will similarly install solar panels to generate power at some of its factories around the world.

FCEVs

Kia’s CEO recently announced that the company plans to bring hydrogen fuel cell vehicles on the roads by 2028. Moreover, they plan to introduce hydrogen technology in their production process soon.

“To help foster a hydrogen society. We plan to use hydrogen fuel cell power generation technology as an energy source at all of our worksites over the mid-to-long term,” says Ho Sung Song.

Collaboration

Kia is working with groups that protect the environment to make the world a better place. Together, they are ensuring that Kia’s impact on the environment is positive, helping to create a greener future for all of us.

“We acknowledge that we are part of the problem. But we believe that we can also play a big part in the solution,” states Ho Sung Song.

The Ocean Cleanup

Kia is working together with an organization called The Ocean Cleanup. They aim to make sure that there is no plastic in the ocean. In August 2023, they removed 55 tons of plastic from the Pacific Ocean using a cleanup System002. After recycling the plastic, some will be used in Kia’s future cars. The group also puts machines near the entrances of rivers to stop plastic from getting into the ocean.

Kia is working towards a better future by focusing on sustainability. It aims to use only electric power for their production and driving. Additionally, they are taking steps to clean up the environment, which will help create a brighter and greener future.
